Psychology and Allied Health Services

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) sets recommended fees for psychological services.  As of July 2018, the standard rate recommended for a 46-60min consultation is $251.00. We do not charge this full amount.

Our helpful reception staff will be able to provide specific information regarding current fees for psychological interventions and assessment.

Whilst a referral from a medical practitioner is not mandatory for you to see a psychologist, there may be rebates for you if this is organised.  If your physician (GP, Paediatrician or Paediatric Psychiatrist) assesses you to be eligible for a referral under the Better Access to Mental Health initiative (Mental Health Treatment Plan), you can then receive a medicare rebate for up to 10 psychology consultations per calendar year.

Payment Methods

Payment can be made by Cash, Eftpos or Credit Card.  Please note that we are unable to accept American Express cards.  We also have HICAPS and EFTPOS facilities to allow you to claim a rebate through your private health fund or via the Medicare on-line claiming system.

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy

As part of our service we offer a courtesy reminder notice the day before your appointment.  We understand that sometimes unexpected events happen, however, to maintain our quality of care and timely services to all of our clients, we require at least 2 days notice if you are unable to keep your appointment.  These timeslots can then be offered to other families in need.  If we are unable to re-allocate the session to another family and you have not provided us with sufficient notice the following policy will be applied:

PLEASE NOTE:  NON-ATTENDED SESSIONS WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE AUTOMATICALLY MOVE TO A CANCELLATION FEE (as per 2nd missed session below).

1st missed session:
We understand things don’t always go to plan, however your commitment to therapy is important to us – we ask that you donate a book / toy to our reception room.  Options can be provided.

2nd missed session:
We’re not very happy – a Cancellation fee of $75 will apply.

3rd missed session:
Our standard appointment fee will apply.

4th missed session:
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to make any more appointments for you.

NB:
Attended sessions help us keep our costs down.
Cancellation fees do not attract Medicare Rebates.
Please do NOT get cross with our Reception staff over these fees – they are just doing their job.  Thank you.
