Sock It to Suicide Week

Sock It to Suicide Week    18th – 24th October, 2020

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in Australia and affects people from all ages, genders, ethnicities and backgrounds.  Every suicide has devastating effects on families, friends and whole communities.  The good news is suicide is preventable with evidence-based interventions and the risk of suicide can be reduced with supportive social relationships, a sense of purpose and hope, effective help seeking as well as access to health services.  Sock it to Suicide Week is an annual event organised by the White Wreath Association which aims to raise awareness and funds to help combat high suicide rates.

At Minding Family, we will be showing our support for this cause by continuing to work with our clients and community to combat suicide.  You may also see the Minding Family team wearing bright and exciting socks throughout this week to help raise suicide awareness.
