Feel Good February – Managing Stress

What is Stress

Stress is a state of mental/emotional strain resulting from a negative or overwhelming situation. Stress is a normal part of life and everyone experiences it from time-to-time. However, stress can significantly impact your quality of life if you experience it too often or severely. Stress is caused by lots of different things (known as stressors), this can include:

  • Managing difficulties within relationships (family, friends, partners, work colleagues)
  • Coping with illness
  • Big changes (marriage, divorce, retirement, having children)
  • Juggling too many things at once
  • Even positive events like planning a holiday
